Da Brat & Jesseca Dupart Set to Be Honored at ATL Black Gay Pride's Pure Heat Community Festival

On Sunday, September 5th, Atlanta's Piedmont Park will welcome the 9th Pure Heat Community Festival; also known as a free “day of unity.” The free cultural event is equipped with market and food vendors, live celebrity and local performers, entertainment, educational forums, prizes & giveaways - all designed to bring together the spirit of community, pride, and vision. In partnership with The Vision Community Foundation, a portion of proceeds from the weekend’s festivities are used to benefit homeless LGBTQ+ youth and those impacted from HIV/AIDS.

VIVICA A. FOX & MISS LAWRENCE SET TO HOST THE VISION COMMUNITY FOUNDATION’S 8TH BLACK TIE GALA ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD AT HISTORIC BILTMORE BALLROOMS

The Vision Community Foundation is set to hold its Annual Black Tie Gala at Atlanta’s historic Biltmore Ballrooms on Friday, September 3rd at 8PM. The gala, themed, “Salute to Fashion” will be hosted by iconic actress Vivica A. Fox and actor and TV Personality Miss Lawrence. The exclusive gala will honor an elite group of individuals and organizations that have made outstanding achievements in the arts, media, ministry, community service and government arenas throughout their lifetime.

Bishop O.C. Allen, III Appointed by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to the Atlanta Human Relations Commission

Nationally renowned religious and human rights trailblazer and best-selling author, Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen, III, Presiding Bishop, Senior Pastor of the Vision Cathedral of Atlanta, Executive Director of Vision Community Foundation Inc., and CEO of iElevate+ TV Network, has been appointed by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to serve as a member of the Atlanta Human Relations Commission for the City of Atlanta. Bishop Allen previously served as a member of the prestigious Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) appointed by President Barack Obama (2013-2016), and on a number of boards to include Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms LGBTQ Advisory Board. He currently serves as the Southern Regional co-chair of the DNC LGBT Advisory Board.

Nationally renowned religious and human rights trailblazer Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen, III, Presiding Bishop, Senior Pastor of the Vision Cathedral of Atlanta and Executive Director of Vision Community Foundation Inc. has been selected to be an officer of the DNC LGBTQ Caucus Advisory Board. Allen will serve as Southern Regional Vice-Chair of the DNC LGBTQ Caucus Advisory Board and will continue his commitment to empowering LGBTQ people in the Democratic ecosystem and continue his focus to benefit the Democratic Party’s efforts to win in 2020.
